The Sustainable Declaration initiative has major implication for agents. From January 1, 2010 the new State and Federal laws place responsibility on vendors and agents. All property advertisements must refer to the sustainability declaration. All properties listed for sale will require a declaration and will need to be made available whenever the home is open for inspection – clearly displayed in the home. If agents and vendors fail to comply with this government regulation, they are at risk of being fined up to $10,000 and $4,000 respectively.
